Camp Singing Hills has been in existence for more than four decades. The Girl Scouts want to close the 240-acre Camp Singing Hills near Middlebury, Indiana, saying it’s under-utilized and other camps in the area have more potential.

“I went there as a girl, there are fond memories there, there are things as a Girl Scout I got to do at camp that I never would have had the chance to do without it,” said Susan Deferbache in the article, “Parents oppose closing of Elkhart County Girl Scout camp“.
“It had an impact on countless girls’ lives,” said William Menges in the article, a concerned parent. “It is just a beautiful property, it offers year-round use.”
“We feel that there has not been enough transparency from the council based on information they used to make the decision,” said Menges. “We don’t feel that the general membership had enough of a voice in this decision-making process.”
